Starting November 10, 2025 (60 Days from Publication on 9/10/2025) CMMC compliance is not optional and will directly determine your eligibility to win or retain DoD contracts.
What is CMMC?
Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is a framework developed by the DoD to ensure that defense contractors have adequate cybersecurity measures in place to protect Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). There are various levels of certification dependent on the contractual information that is handled. Key Factors about CMMC
- There are 3 Levels of CMMC that need to be achieved, depending on the DoD contract data that is being used.
- All future DoD contracts will require the contractor to reach the required CMMC Level.

CMMC requires compliance with the NIST SP 800-171r2 standard:
- Level 1: 17 basic controls
- Level 2: 110 controls
- Level 3: 110 controls + additional controls from NIST SP 800-172
